This vintage colander belonged to my wife's late Grandmother who collected all sorts of vintage and classic kitchen tools and items. This colander hangs in our kitchen.
I completed this small painting (9" x 12" on canvas) last week. It is being shipped to the Elliott Fouts Gallery tomorrow for my opening with David Lobenberg February 2010. The opening of the 'Holiday Show - size matters" at the Miller Gallery in Cincinnati, OH is tonight. I was hoping to make it but I have family over for the Holiday and am unable to drop in. I hope to post some pictures from the opening later next week. I hope to make a visit maybe in December. There are some great paintings by some talented artist.

I recently completed this large canvas painting (24" x 24") for the Miller Gallery. I had fun with the comics (you have to look really close but its there). I have several smaller paintings with this type of theme going to the Elliott Fouts Gallery for my exhibition in February. Hope to post those images larger next week.

This spinning top was one of my sons favorite toys as a child. I was going through some of his toys awhile ago and found so many interesting objects to paint. 
This is my forth crate painting. I just couldn't pass up this old jolly Rabbit crate image. I decided to show the age of this old crate with more detail and texture. 
This is my second crate painting that I recently completed. I thought is would be fun to paint this old buck! Fun indeed.

Cherry season in Michigan and I can't resist the temptation for cherry pie. My wife and I have been busy picking raspberries and strawberries the last few weeks. My wife hsa been treating me like royalty. She's canned 22 can's of raspberry jam and over a dozen cans of strawberry jam this week only - now cherry pie - will it ever stop..lol. I am one lucky guy!
Here is a still life that I put together from a bunch of creamers and sugar dispensers that I've collected over the past few years.
I put together a group of these small (4" x 4") paintings of vintage cars. These are fun and nostalgic to paint. I thought it would be interesting to group them together.
Oil Still Life on wood 7.25" x 7.25" on 3/4" wood with painted sides. 
I found these tools really cool. All used for some sort of measurement. I picked these tools out at a garage sale. These tools are one of my favorites.

I was honored to be exhibited at the Woodland Art Gallery in Woodland California last May. I want to thank Elliott Fouts for all his assistance and for setting up and making all the arrangements.
I've not posted many paintings in the past few weeks because I have started a new body of work that I am pretty excited about. The paintings are much larger and the technique is very expressive for me. I hope to complete around 15 to 20 pieces and hopefully get a chance to exhibit them. Periodically, I will post a few to give you a glimpse.
A few weeks back I was channel surfing and came across 'Lost in Space'. I remember how much I used to love that show as a kid. After watching that for a few minutes I thought it would be fun to add a Robot to one of my crate paintings. So here it is....lol
I put together another composition with spoons, ice cream scoopers of all sorts. My wife has a nice collection.
I've been working on a couple of paintings that encompass some of my wife's pots and pans. I found the texture and composition interesting to paint.
Continuing my interest in kitchen art, I found it interesting this collection of pots and pans.
My wife's Grandmother who passed away some years ago at the age of 102 left us this letter scale. I found it so different and unique. My wife and her Grandmother shared many letters when she was a child. She loved to visit her Grandmother's farm in Ohio. The farm has since been sold. Our family misses her and her little farm land in Findlay Ohio.
You have to love those classic Bugles....
This is my second Cigar box painting. This Mohawk Cigar box was really cool to paint. Just love to use those vibrant rich tones.
