Classic Car Fin Paintings: Vicini: 4" x 4" Series

I guess I couldn't get enough of these classic car fins. It has been awhile since I painted these types of paintings. They are so much fun. What is great about painting these small 4" x 4" paintings is that I can paint many of them - I can't get enough!

The Exhibition Has Opened !

Well, it actually happened. A bozo like me was given an opportunity from a Gallery owner who believed in me and who stayed with me even in tough times. Elliott Fouts, the owner of Elliott Fouts Gallery, hung my show this weekend and it is now open. The opening reception is February 14th.

Elliott was kind enough to take a couple of pictures of the Gallery (as you can see). I have another one that I will post tomorrow and I hope to have more from the opening.

I want to thank everyone who has written to me and who has wished me the best. I really appreciate all your emails and support.

Retro Cake Mixer : 4 x 4 Series EFG Exhibition

This painting is an addition to my 4 x 4 series at the Elliott Fouts Gallery . This classic mixer was arranged in this composition which I really enjoyed. This painting will be included in my opening exhibition on Feb 7th with Philippe Gandiol and Marie Therese Brownand with the opening reception February 14th from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.

Another interesting coffee can. This is my 3rd one.
Got a kick out of the Old Master on the can. This painting is smaller than some of my previous paintings. 10 x 10 oil on canvas with 1" gallery painted sides.

Just the name of this pudding, intrigued me to paint this retro pudding box. The square canvas led me to paint it like a package. Reminds me of having "Mousse in a Minute", many times after dinner.

Maypo Pancake Mix - painting series #14

Mmm ....... waking up to the smell of pancakes on a Saturday morning! What more can you ask for? Found this retro pancake box and couldn't pass it up! I really love the yellows and red together and the animated character on the box. It notes: Great for Waffles. That was always the big debate. Pancakes or Waffles?

A few months back, I painted a Skippy peanut butter painting and sold it on eBay. I enjoyed it so much I had to do another. I changed the background and the size. The bag of Ritz crackers rests on top, waiting to be slathered with Skippy.

Tastee Freez!

Its that time of year when the weather finally warms up and its time for ice cream! I loved going to the local Tastee Freez or Dairy Queen as a kid. I still love to go. This painting is a study of a larger piece that I am thinking about painting.

Heinz Ketchup Painting - painting series #10

This painting will also be included at the Elliott Fouts Gallery. The exhibition date has been scheduled for mid November of 2008. I have painted many ketchup bottles in the past but this compostiion was my wifes idea. She insisted I paint it with a swipe of ketchup on it. I have a ton of work ahead me. I intend to paint some really large paintings for the show. I will be exhibiting with a Gallery artist Tim White.

Sugar Smack - painting series #9

This painting is another painting that will be included at the Elliott Fouts Gallery.

When I found this cereal box I knew that I had to paint it. You don't find cereal boxes like this anymore. So unique! I can't tell you how fun and strange it was to paint this painting. That clown is to die for! The lettering and layers in this rather large piece was a challenge in patience.
