This painting was prepared over a 3/4" poplar surface and is ready to hang (sides painted). This is my second in my food series that I have painted a muffin. I really enjoy the texture and design of this still life. The plate design compliments the colors in the muffin and the blue table top. Please enjoy.
This painting was prepared over a 3/4" poplar surface that I wrapped a canvas over to provide some texture. Every so often I feel inspired to wrap canvas over wood. This approach provides me the texture of the canvas (which I like) and the hard surface of the wood (which I like for detail). The texture of the canvas was perfect to capture the muffin's grainy surface.
